Requirements to ask for Residence in Costa Rica

#1 .- Letter from applicant to the General Director of Immigration of Costa Rica.
        This letter must specify reasons to ask for temporary of permanent residency.

#2- Legalized Power of Attorney given to a representative with legal address in Costa Rica.
       This special power must specify clearly all representative’s qualities, as well as  fax number and address within legal perimeter
       of San Jose, where all notifications are to be sent.

#3.- In the case documents are not presented at the Consulate by applicant, a representative must carry  a Legalized
       Power of Attorney, with  representative’s qualities, and his/her address in The Netherlands.

#4.- Birth Certificate with applicant’s parents names.

#5.- Good Conduct Certification given by applicant’s country authorities.  

#6.- Complete legalized copy of passport.

#7.- Four pictures (passport)

#8- Wedding Certificate if applicant is married. If married to costarrican and legalized in  Costa Rica, certificate must
       be given by the costarrican Civil Register.

#9- If application is presented for a special status of inversionist, rentist or pensioner, applicant must present documents
       for Immigration to credit. The same for temporary residents.

All documents must be presented to the Consulate in the applicant’s country, from where they will be sent to Immigration in
 Costa Rica for their study, or submitted by the legal representative in Costa Rica
